TX Beaches

  • Bird Island Basin (Padre Island
    On the inward side of the island on the Laguna Madre. A popular fishing and windsurfing spot in TX.
  • Bryan Beach State Recreation Are
    On Gulf of Mexico, Intracoastal Waterway and Brazos River. Activities include fishing, beach-type recreation, primitive camping.
  • East Beach Park (Galveston Islan
    A large, wide beach near the ship channel. Not recommended for swimming due to heavy fishing here.
  • Galveston Island State Park
    Slightly more than 2,000 acres in size, located on the west end of Galveston Island. No lifeguards on duty. There are camping sites. Four miles of hiking trails.
  • Isla Blanca County Park
    On the southern tip of South Padre Island. Much of the resort atmosphere of the island is absent in this quiter area.
  • J.P. Luby Surf Park (Corpus Chri
    On North Padre Island, about 2 1/2 miles up the beach from Bob Hall Pier.
  • Malaquite Beach (Padre Island Na
    Considered by many beachgoers to be the best of TX beaches in the Padre Island National Seashore park.
  • McGee Beach (Corpus Christi)
    A small beach with concrete jetties along the Corpus Christi Seawall. This small area with shallow water is an ideal beach for children.
  • Mustang Island State Park
    Just under 4,000 acres in size and features five miles of beach with high dunes. Great for camping, hiking and fishing.
  • Padre Balli County Park (Corpus
    Padre Balli County Park is on North Padre Island. About 15 minutes south of Corpus Christi. It's Bob Hall Pier is a well-known local landmark. The pier is a popular fishing spot that swimmers should be careful around.
  • Seawall Beaches (Galveston Islan
    A number of public TX beaches are located along the Galveston Seawall. Alcohol is not permitted but some locations offer food. There are jetties for fishing.
  • South Padre Island
    A 34-mile-long barrier island with miles of beaches at the southern tip of Texas. A resort beach, with hotels, condominiums, restaurants, shops, etc. A hot spot during Spring Break.
  • Stewart Beach (Galveston Island)
    This 'family beach' has several attractions for children. No alcohol is permitted at this TX beach.
